Going to Practice Drawing

Well, I have so many hobbies I can't find time to do them all but I have been neglecting my drawing and painting so am committed to spending time drawing. I can copy other drawings to my satisfaction but I really need to work on real life drawings - in case I end up in the street busking. So will post new drawings now and then when I get an acceptable one drawn.

Have been building rc airplanes

My interests drift around a lot. The last couple years I have gotten heavy into building and flying my own designs of epp foam rc airplanes - mostly flying wings cause I crash a lot and they are really resilient.
So my art has suffered - I haven't done much of anything until today when I started refurbishing my painting of Shirley. The one I have posted now looks nothing like her and I got so fed up I just quit painting for a year.
So now, I think I will come back and do some more portraits.
It really stinks when my most downloaded and viewed painting is one I painted from a Chinese art book.

Art - what a massive waste of time. Fortunately I have my technique down to about an hour of work. I cheat by making an outline of a photo I print out on my printer and then fill in the contours. Of course, one's own style pops out, no two people will do it the same - still cheating. So I waste massive amounts of time and cheat on my art to boot. Better than watching tv I guess.
I am getting a little into this new/old style. Pencil then ink then some acrylic highlights then mabey wash the water off the paper, rough it up a bit and bingo - another mundane piece of work.
Chinese students - wow, are they beautiful with their slanty and dark brown eyes, soft noses and innocent lips and black hair. Plus they are kind, hard working, love their parents and would do any good thing for you. I never had that experience with American and European kids.
Well Jim, what do you want to achieve with your art work - I really don't know. It goes nowhere and everywhere - kind of lost. No stories to tell.
CoCo is a real sweetheart - beautiful, good cook, good student, pretty fair English, funny, really slim - most chinese students are but I see them imbibing in carbs these days. I love these chinese kids - why they like to hang out with old guys like me I just can't figure except that they do love and respect their elders.
